The England blind cricket team have named four uncapped players in a young and inexperienced squad for August's 5 match international series against India.
The squad of 16 includes only 9 of the squad that played in last December's blind cricket World Cup. A number of players are unavailable for a number of reasons including retirement, injury and just taking a break from the international set up.
Northamptonshire VI.XI.NS have players called up by England for the first time with Mahomed Khatri and Jagdisch Pata joining Warwickshire pair Roy Turnham and Andy Briant in there first squad. It's likely that most of them will get to make their debuts during the series as 3 or the squads 6 b1 players are uncapped. 16 year old Khatri is the youngest player in the squad an his inclusion is particularly impressive when you consider he has been blind for less than 2 years.
A number of other squad members have a small number of caps only, including Dave Powers who has just 1 cap so far.
The series starts at Redditch Cricket Club on August 20th and runs until August 26th.
