Royals V Galloways                                                                                           Scorecard

Worcestershire Royals V Northern Galloways BBS League Division 1

Saturday 29th April 2006

The newly formed Northern Galloways cricket club claimed a 4 wicket win over Worcestershire Royals in their first ever match.

The Northern side was made up of a mixture of experienced blind cricketers and one or two new faces. Worcester batted first in the match played at RNIB new college in Worcester on a lightning fast new strip and scored 137 all out. Sam Murray played an excellent innings before being caught and Gary Prescott also bowled well. Other notable contributions include 3 catches from Dave Ellingham and the fact that all eleven Galloways players bowled at least one over.

In reply Galloways slumped to 13/2 and continued to lose wickets throughout their innings but a strong batting performance from Gary O'Neill helped steer the visitors to a 4 wicket win. For Worcester Tom Milson deserves credit for an excellent bowling performance which included 2 wickets and a very good economy rate.

Both teams will take lots of positives from this game and will have high hopes of wins in their next games.
