Worcestershire Royals V Birmingham Sports BBS League Division 1 Saturday 6th May 2006 Birmingham Sports returned to the BBS cricket league after a year out with a 6 wicket win over Worcestershire Royals in a low scoring clash at RNIB New College in Worcester. Birmingham won the toss and put Worcester in to bat. With star batsman Sam Murray away at England training Worcestershire's batsmen weren't able to put up much of a fight with Ben Ochilea (19) the only batsman to make double figures in a score of just 77 all out, including 40 extras. Birmingham used a total of 10 bowlers with Jack Kirkby and Kwame Porter taking 2 wickets each. England player Hassan Khan also took a wicket and 2 catches and there were also two run outs in an innings which lasted only 16 overs. In response Lee Robshaw carried the Birmingham innings with 32 not out and Adrian Snellgrove scored 12 as Birmingham reached their target with 6 wickets and 34.5 overs to spare. Tom Milson took 2 wickets for the second game in a row and B1 Andrew Briant also took two wickets. Birmingham 23 points, Worcestershire 5 points |
