Sussex Sharks V London Sports BBS National Cricket League Division 1 Report by Ian Morris Blackstone, a bone hard pitch and a sunny day. Both sides looking to restart their seasons after being on the wrong end of recent results Sussex won the toss and elected to field, and were utterly ruthless. From ball 1 Sussex crowded the bat and London struggled with the bounce and carry, as you would expect the big hitting middle order chipped in with a few lusty blows Andy Whipp top scored with 15, but the pressure was constant and in the 19th over the London innings closed 92 all out. Miles Northwood with 3 for 44. The London bowlers could not exert the same level of pressure and only 1 wicket fell, Dan Field falling to an excellent catch by Sadfer. This was the best Sussex performance to date, ever, so maybe they may upset the form books in their final 2 games, as for London, as ever a great bunch of guys to work with and we wish them all well for the rest of the season. |
